Q: What precisely does website migration mean and what does it entail?

Q: Just how long will it take for my site to be moved to your platform?
A: There are plenty of factors to take into account – the total number of files, the physical size of the database, the complexity of the website itself and the present workload of our web site migration experts, etc. That being said, we do our best to accomplish all website migrations within a 48–hour time period. Smaller–sized web sites are migrated faster – typically in less than 24 hours.

Q: Do you need something from me before you begin transferring my site?
A: We do not collect any information that is personal. We’ll need, though, the login info for your old hosting account and the name of the web site that you wish to transfer.

Q: The login info for my hosting account is delicate. How can I trust you?
A: In order for us to start the transfer of your hosting account, you must already have an account with us. Opening an account with us requires that you to share practically the same info you have provided to your current web hosting provider. We’ve also got a very rigorous Privacy Policy, which specifies how sensitive data is handled.

Q: What about downtime? Will my web site be offline?
A: While we transfer your website, it will be available both in your hosting account with us and in your account with your former hosting provider. Once the migration is over, we’ll make sure that everything is functioning correctly and that the integrity of your web content is not jeopardized prior to telling you that the transfer is done. Then we’ll tell you how to move the domain name to your hosting account with us and how to edit your DNS settings.

Q: Will my present hosting provider discover that I am leaving them?
A: While we transfer your web content, your hosting provider won’t be aware of the transfer at all. We won’t contact them in any way.

Q: Which web hosting platforms do you support?
A: We support all Linux–powered web hosting platforms. Fundamentally, if we can access your Control Panel, we’ll be able to transfer your website.The only platforms that we don’t support are closed–source website management platforms like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
